Sample letter to State Representatives
(To voice your opinion on trading with communist nations)
| Your name Address City, State, Zip Phone Date The Honorable [insert name] Dear Congressman [name] or Representative [name]: I am writing as a concerned constituent regarding the United State's stand on foreign trade. Specifically, open trade with communist nations. My personal first choice is always American made, but I understand that is not always possible, so I look for labels from countries that do not persecute their citizens for voicing their opinions, practicing the religion of their choice, allow the right to assemble and many other freedoms that we as Americans hold dear. For years, Americans fought and in some cases died trying to defend our way of life and battle the communist regimes. Now in order to save on manufacturing costs, local jobs - formerly held by Americans are being outsourced to communist nations and the result has been headline news: Poisons, Lead Paint, recalls, defects, inferior products and more. I for one am prepared to spend more on a product made in the U.S.A., so the cost point of dealing with communist nations is mute. Please know that patriotism is not dead in this country, and I welcome the opportunity to buy American made products, or at least products from a non-communist country. I welcome your comments and reply, and I sincerely hope you can help end trade with communist countries. Sincerely, [insert your name here] |
